Examiner Live Review from Americana Music Showcase

By September 20, 2014No Comments

The Nashville Examiner reviewed last night’s Americana Music Association Festival/conference showcase at 3rd & Lindsley and said some very nice things about the guys. Thank you Chris for the kind words!

Here’s what was said about ’em:

“The band given the unenviable task of following Hayes Carll was The Howlin’ Brothers, and there couldn’t have been a better choice. Anyone was going to lose a little of the crowd to the greater majority of them with their high energy 21st century take on old-time music. This trio are some of the brightest stars in Americana’s flourishing youth movement. While they have the requisite beards and banjos to often get lumped into the glut of hipster bait bands following the Mumford & Sons path to success. The Howlin’ Brothers have a musical sincerity and a lyrical depth that takes them beyond many of their peers. They had the crowd dancing for their entire set and likely made
a number of new fans.”
